Theresa's Garden

watercolor
14" x 21"
landscape

This is Theresa's garden...of should I say, just a few inches of it.  You would not believe the size of these gardens and the beautiful flowers that are on display.  Glad I do not have to weed them...look for more garden and flower paintings.

Short Order

watercolor
9" x 15"

The first day that the urban sketchers decided to go and sketch...it rained.  We were going to sketch the Griffith, Indiana train depot.  Well, since it was raining, we ended up at the corner restaurant.  These are the two cooks that were on duty at the time.  It was interesting sketching in the restaurant...got some other ideas that may also become paintings.

Train Tower-Griffith, Indiana

watercolor
14" x 21"
landscape

This was painted from sketches that I did my first day out with the Urban Sketchers.  It was raining so I stayed in the car and sketched and took some photos.  I completed the painting in the studio.
This is the train tower in my little town of Griffith, Indiana.  Enjoy and watch out for the trains.

Alexander in the Park~Lincoln Park, Chicago

watercolor
14" x 21"
landscape

This is a statute of Alexander Hamilton that is in Lincoln Park in Chicago.  I loved the way the sun was hitting the statue.  It was fun painting all the trees.  I was branching out on this one.

Ol' Griffith Depot

watercolor 14" x 21"
landscape

Two other girlfriends and I started this Urban Sketchers Midwest group.  One week we met and it rained so we sketched inside the local restaurant.  This past Monday we were to meet again.  I was the only one who showed up.  It was raining again.  So I just sat in my car and did a sketch of this little scene.  It was such a peaceful afternoon even though it was cold and rainy.  Nothing like XM radio and rain.

This is the painting I created in the studio.  More of this location to come.  If you listen hard enough, you can hear the train coming...and you can hear the rain.  Enjoy!!

Flowers For My Friends

watercolor
14" x 21"
Floral

I set up some still lives in my class for my students.  Real still lives with silk flowers.  LOL.  The watering can was a gift from my friend, Annie.  She had it filled with lovely fresh flowers for my Birthday in March. I will use it this summer to water some of my plants and flowers that I will soon be planting.  Anyone want to help????????

Hydrangea demo

watercolor
14" x 21"

This was a demo painting that I did for my class today.  I set up a still life of silk flowers.  LOL.  It took about an hour to paint it.  Last week I showed the class how to stretch 140# watercolor paper and today I painted on that sheet.  I usually paint on 300#.
