Thought I would paint this icon of Chicago.  Marshall Fields was a great department store but now it has become Macy's.  Fortunately for Chicago, they kept this clock.  Many people used to meet at this great landmark.

This painting was actually done for the Daily Paintworks Challenge this past week.  Every week we get a new challenge.  They have been doing this for a long time now....I have done every challenge!!  The neat part is that I have sold a few because of it.  I sold one the other night and shipped it to Canada. Cool.

Gearing myself up for my classes that will start in a few weeks.  I always start my students off with barns.  They always seem to get us all in "the mood...."  That should be a song.  lol

Dave's Jam Night

Dave Mueller owns an art gallery in downtown Hammond, Indiana and it is called Paul Henry's.  At one time it was an old hardware store.  I believed it belonged to his dad.  I remembering going there when I was young with my dad to buy house paint.  

Every Thursday night they have these jam nights.  Folks come and pot luck and play musical instruments and sing.  This is my version of a Jam night in watercolor.  Let's listen in and hear the music......

I went to the Lake County Fair in Indiana on Friday and Tuesday....decided to paint some of what I had experienced there....I love the fair....watch for it....

Chicago's Backside

This is the south side of Chicago and is a very familiar scene.  I can't imagine having to walk up all of those stairs.

This is a typical scene that you would see if you went to the Hammond Marina, in Hammond, Indiana.  Right next to this Marina is the Horseshoe Casino.  So I guess you can park your boat and then park yourself at one of the slot machines.  Enjoy!!
