Last month's trip to Chicago gave me a lot of subject matter to work from. Here is a view as you enter into the city.

This is what I see when I head up to Chicago on the Toll Road. There is so much industry in the area in which I live. This is attributed to the fact that I live so close to Lake Michigan. With this in mind, I thought I would do some industry paintings. Hope you enjoy them. If you live in the "Region" you will know these areas.

Sunday evening-Union Station-Chicago

Tim and I were up in Chicago on Sunday and we were out taking photos for future paintings. We went to Union Station since I haven't been there in years. I remember when I worked close by and there was this neat bakery in the station. I used to stop and get a flying saucer before work. It was a flat cup cake (yellow) with chocolate frosting. What better way to start my day.

This is actually the original Union Station and there is an addition which is next to it. This beautiful "space" is rented out for weddings and galas. Enjoy...listen for the trains.

This was this weeks challenge on the daily paintworks site. We had to do a painting with all white objects. I had chosen to do all white flowers...maybe I just really wanted some flowers to help think of spring? I will never tell.

Thought I would get out of my comfort zone and paint some people. I am working on 300# arches rough wc paper. My challenge to myself is trying to stay loose. It was fun and who knows what I will be painting next.....
