Electricity is Out...went to get some lanterns

 watercolor
14" x 21"
cityscape

I know I haven't blogged for a while, but I didn't realize it was that long.  I have been really busy painting.  Since the pandemic, I had to cancel all of my studio classes.  I do have two small classes coming up at a local frame and art supply shop.  These are great for beginners.  Don't know when I will start up my classes in the studio.  Maybe it is time to retire from that.  I am hoping to have some classes out in my yard in the summer.  I have had all of my vaccines so I am good there.

So I will continue to paint and get back to posting here....

Stay well.  Stay strong.

Modern Farming

 watercolor
 6.5" x 14.5"
 landscape

Farming has come a long way.  Technology has taken over.  But, in rural areas we can still find the old farmstead with the red barn and wooden silos.  Each has their own unique beauty.

Save the Farms.

Stay warm.  Stay well.

Farming Chores

We were hit with some snow storms this year.  Nothing terrible.  I live in the midwest and this is what we are used to getting.  It does look pretty and I love the blanket of snow over everything. There are about 2 feet of snow on my picnic table right now.  The tulips I planted  in the fall will love all of this snow when it melts.

On one of our trips out to take photos in the country, I ran across this old barn.  I love the character of it.  So I had to paint it.  I tried a watercolor board for this one.

Been up to Chicago a few times, too.  Got some new photos of the city that I can't wait to paint.

Stay well.  Stay Strong.

Untitled Snow Scene

Been out a few times taking photos of snow and barns and I have been using   this theme as a painting subject matter for January and February.  I have been   so busy painting that I haven't been able to post them here on my blog.  I do   post them on Face Book:  Kathy Los-Rathburn   and also on Instagram:
Watercolorunlimited.   Come and see me there.

Stay Well.  Stay Strong....and Stay Warm.

Into the Light

 watercolor
 9" x 12"
 landscape

Found some different watercolor paper in my cabinet of papers, mats and paintings.  For the new year I thought I would start using some of my old stuff up. All artists have a bunch of supplies that they bought and haven't used or are lightly used. Time to use them up.  I have been painting a lot and that makes me feel good.

We had a bit of snow so we went out taking photos today.  Unfortunately, there wasn't any sun so these new photos will have a different feel to them....or I can use my artistic license and add lots of color....watch and see what I do with them.

Have a great week everyone.  Stay well.  Stay strong.

Lake Michigan's Winter Blanket

 watercolor
 12" x 16"
 landscape

With the holidays I got way behind posting my new paintings.  You can see them on Face Book and Insatagram.

My dear hubby bought me a new computer a few months ago and now I can not find anything.  I am pulling out my hair.  So I may not be posting all those photos since I can not find them.  I will probably start with 2021.

Keep stay well, and warm.
