NYC Gal Visits Chicago
watercolor 10 x 12
This week for the challenge we had a photo of this woman from New York City who had blond hair. She seemed to be sitting by a water fountain and she was checking her phone or ipod. We were able to do what ever we wanted with it...well, I made my gal have brown hair and she was sitting in front of Buckingham Fountain. Instead of the phone, I gave her a sketchbook and some pigeons to draw. I did this because it reminded me of the early 70's when I went to the American Academy of Art in Chgo. Funny, when my students saw it yesterday they said it looked like me. lol. Notice I gave her bell bottom jeans.

Workshops!!
This Saturday April 9, I will be conducting a watercolor workshop at the Chesterton Art Center in Chesterton, Indiana. We will be painting the lovely-colorful trumpet flower. This will be a 1/2 sheet painting. Still a few space left so either e-mail me at: KTR1976@aol.com or call me.
On Friday April 15, come to the senior center in Griffith and relax after finishing up your taxes for some cherry pie. We will be painting a delicious cherry pie on 1/4 sheet of wc paper. This is an all inclusive class from 1-4. You just come and everything is supplied. Email or call me to get into this class or for more information.
Hope to see you there.

"Winter's River Bank"
watercolor I did these last snow scenes a few weeks ago. I just never got to posting them on my blog. I have been posting them on Face Book. Thought I would catch up now....as I get ready for shows that are coming up. Remember the painting that I did of the tulips that I dedicated to my friend/student, Fran Novosel? Well she just passed away two days ago. They said she had about 6 more months to live, well it was only a month. I went and made note cards of that painting and I got them today. Guess she won't need them now. I wanted to surprise her with them. Also sold my painting on the Japanese challenge that is on the dailypaintworks site. It was interesting that the gal lives in Kentucky where I have my signature status with the Kentucky watercolor society. Small world...but I wouldn't want to paint it. Stay well my friends.
