FAll Leaves

watercolor
7" x 10"
nature

It's that time of year again....time for fall and time to paint negative leaves.  This was a demo that I did for one of my classes.

This past week we were on vacation.  Went to southern Indiana to catch the colors of the fall leaves.  On three of the days of our trip, it had rained.  We also spent a day in Chicago.  I took a ton of photos so I will have lots of inspiration to paint from while I stay inside this winter....great times ahead.  Happy Fall...you all.

Another Fall Barn

watercolor
12" x 20"
landscape

This is a typical scene in Indiana as the sun is beginning to set.  I painted this piece with Paul Jackson's new watercolors.  They are really neat paints,  Nice and intense and the colors are not washed out.  A little bit of this pigment goes a long way.  Beautiful colors.

Check out master watercolor, Paul Jackson and you will be glad that you did.  Thanks Paul for all you do for so many of us.  You are a great inspiration.  k

Fall on the Farm

watercolor
14" x 21"
landscape

After going to out to take photos last week, I came back to the studio and painted this farm scene.  I was trying a different brand of paint and some of their new colors.  The actual painting has more orange colors in it.  May shoot this one again.

Today we went out taking photos so I have so many things to paint right now....I need more time, a house keeper, someone to cook and do laundry, someone to help with all of the leaves, a bookkeeper,  you get the idea...I need some free time to paint.  lol.

Have a great week.  k

Fall Leaves on canvas

watercolor
12' x 12"
still life

This is a painting that I did as a workshop piece for the Chesterton Art Center.  We had a fun time doing it.  It is painted on watercolor canvas which is kinda tricky to paint on but lots of fun.  We will be doing another canvas workshop that will be Nov . 16 at the Chesterton Art Center, in Chesterton, Indiana.  The next painting will be a poinsettia and I am thinking of doing another one in my studio of a snowman....hope to see you in class.

West Beach-Indiana National Lakeshore

 watercolor 10" x 14"
 watercolor

Well this is a surprise.  I came to post a new photo only to find the whole format to doing so is totally different.  I hope this will turn out.  Why fix something when it is not broken.  It is hard to teach this old gal new tricks.

This is one of our dune areas.  We are so fortunate to have these dunes along Lake Michigan.  They are forever changing.  Great paradise for any artist.

Rural Landscape

watercolor
8" x 21"
landscape

Thought I would take a break from decorating for the Christmas holiday by doing this painting. There is so much to do...but you still have to take time to fill your soul. Enjoy!
