watercolor 14 x 21 Another in my cherry series. The title will be "Sometimes Life Gives You a Lemon" or "Cherry Lemonade" These have been fun to do, and a challenge to get that background down all at once. Enjoy...make yourself a lemonade...add some cherries!!
It's a new year so I thought I would play with a new technique. New to me that is. I paint a lot freer than this. This is really tight. I went to the market and bought a bunch of fruits and veggies for this next series. Who said I am a starving artist?
I am still trying to decide between the titles of this painting:
1). Life is just a bowl of cherries 2). Sweet and savory
watercolor 21 x 14 This is a painting of a statue that is a shrine to the Virgin Mary. It is located in St. John, Indiana. I remember going to this place when I was a little kid (ages ago). I never thought I would be painting it. Look for more to come. Blessings!!
Here is another little fruit painting that will hang at "Pie Piper" restaurant. I am hoping to do a few more for this series. These will also be my next card series.
I finally finished getting all of the Christmas trees down. Still have some Christmas decorations to get put away...but by the end of the week, Valentine's Day decorations will be up.
Here is another little berry painting for a little mini series that I am doing. These are going to hang in a restaurant here in Indiana along with the pies I did a while back. I am thinking about doing a set of greeting cards with the berries to go along with the cards I had made of the pies. Enjoy!!
watercolor 10" x 4" Thought I would get away from the snow for awhile since my friends think I am the reason why it snows. So here....strawberries for everyone. enjoy.
I decided to do another painting of the dunes in winter--here in Indiana. This is the National Lakeshore which is about 40 minutes from my house. No, I did not paint this on location. I take tons of photos and then I work from them and make "stuff" up...oh the creative process. What fun. I am not a snow bunny. Hope you are staying warm.
Thought I would work in this long format. Do you ever see blue snow? Well I do. lol. This painting has many layers of glazing to achieve my dark and intense colors. This is one of my favorite subjects to paint. The dunes are along Lake Michigan which are about 45 minutes from my house here in Indiana. Great place to go anytime of the year.
