Did another one of those little 6" x 6" acrylic on canvas paintings. This is just a wrapped around canvas. It was fun to do, but I feel like I am cheating since I have painted in watercolor all of my life.
Today I went to see the David Becker 11-11-11 exhibit at the Palette and Chisel in Chgo. It was the closing of his exhibit which was up for 11 days. Today was also his 50th Birthday. What a way to celebrate. I even bought one of his paintings. I will be happy to hang it in my studio for the students to see it. It was a fun night in the city.

Thanks Vickie...I have to grin, too. Using acrylics makes me feel like I am cheating. lol. I may be doing a bunch of these and give them for gifts. What do you think?
I would love to post David's painting, but I would have to get permission to do that. I really can't post it here since my photos on my blog go directly to my daily paintworks of which I am a member. There are some photos of his opening (closing) on his FB site.

I won't call it cheating! We do love changes at times and if we are enjoying it, so be it! And of course, this is a lovely painting :)

true. nothing to beat the joy of watercolors.
AK....isn't that the truth!!!! You can't beat that transparent look....but it was nice to correct something with thick paint. lol.
Love the colour contrasts Kathy,this is beautiful! I have yet to try painting in oils,I just love acrylics so much though.
Azra...I so much love wc but thought I would try something new. It has been alot of fun. I did a new one today and I am going to go and post it now...Glad to hear that you like the painting.
